Here are a list our candidates and you can have a look at a little bit about them and what they propose for Exeter.
I have lived in Exeter for the last 5 years and I work for a local company that operates across the UK and Europe. I want to make positive changes to the world I see around me, and hope that you will trust me to do that for you.
People in Exeter and Devon badly need some sensible representation to bring common sense to policy making. We are constantly left with half baked transport policies, development plans with no thought of how sustainable or useful they will prove in the future, and spiraling council tax to pay for it all.
We need a council that will actually think about the social and environmental needs of the people it represents and not just the economic growth of the city.
The Green Party has councilors elected all over the UK and they have had the chance to improve their constituencies. A Green voice on the Exeter City Council is exactly what we need to bring some balance to our disproportionately grey representation.
Andrew Bell lives in the heart of Alphington village. He is married with two young daughters and works as an educational consultant. He has long campaigned for the introduction of 20mph zones to all residential streets in Alphington to reduce the impact of traffic and create a healthier and safer local environment for pedestrians and cyclists; in 2004 he coordinated a 1000 strong petition to Devon County Council calling for 20mph zones to be introduced.
He distinguishes himself from other candidates by opposing the Marsh Barton incinerator, Alphington Road road-widening plans and the expansion of Exeter airport.
